Welcome! My name is Melissa. I am married to a wonderful man named Brooks in. Brooks is a Mechanical Engineer working in Roseville along with helping me at the barn. He has ridden with me in the past but its not his thing lol (we all have our "thing").

We have 3 children, 2 of which you will see at the barn most days helping with ranch chores and riding horses.

My son Ryan I'm sorry to say did NOT get the horse crazy gene.  His passion is building things and taking electronics apart fixing them.  He definitely takes after Brooks!  He got his dads engineer mind which is great and amazing watching him at work. Such a smart kind loving boy!

Alexa....oh Alexa lol she is one precious and amazing little girl born on Valentines day. As my friend said at Alexas birth, "She was born of love on the day of love". She steals the hearts of all around her. As for her and the horses she's filled with joy and excitement when she sees horses in any form! It can be in a book, a toy, a picture or the real thing. I'm pretty sure she did get the horse crazy gene .

As for me my first time riding horses was when I was 2 years old. Horses have always been and continue to be a stress reliever for me. For those of you wondering what I do with my horses, I enjoy trail riding more than anything...relaxing getting lost in the beauty of nature and just forgetting about the every day stresses of life.  Keep up barn maintenance and the care of the horses comes first so I don't ride as much as I would like but when I do its the most relaxing part of my afternoon.

In 2014 I had a life changing horse related accident that put me in a vegetative state as I was not wearing a helmet. Needless to say helmets are now required regardless of age. I still refer to it as my greatest blessing and journey which was documented via video and people helping me type blog like posts. You can read all about my accident on Facebook under "Melissas Helmet Crusade" or click HERE. Reading this will also help explain why I now require helmets to be worn by anyone on a horse at Meadowbrook regardless of age or discipline.

The horses at Meadowbrook Equestrian Center are cared for and given the utmost respect and care they deserve. They will and do receive the exact same care as my own horses receive. We strive to keep the environment a wholesome and comfortable place for all who visit. If you ever have any questions or concerns in regards to the center or conduct by anyone at the center please don’t hesitate to contact us immediately so we may do our best to resolve the issue.
